We get numerous enquiries regarding sewage treatment tanks, septic tanks, soakaways, percolation testing, aerobic digestion and the difference between all of the products on the market. When it really comes down to it we believe that the days of the septic tank and soakaway system are limited. Unless you have a subsoil that is very porous, chalk, shale or sand, then you are far better to put in a packaged sewage treatment system such as a BioKube. Clay soils and high water tables cause the biggest problems. A soakaway in these conditions might work in the summer but come the winter they are always going to fail.
The Biokube system can be added to existing septic tanks, as a replacement for a failing soakaway or installed as a completely new system, where a settlement tank is used in conjunction with the BioKube. The water that is produced can be discharged directly to a ditch / stream / dyke / burn / levee / pond / sea or any other watercourse with Environmental Agency / SEPA consent.
